Day 266 - "Blessed are Those who have not seen and yet have Believed.”

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:24-29 ESV)

I never met Bernard Poolman, I never saw the things he could do or felt his presence next to me, I never spoke to him in the flesh, feeling his sound and having that direct experience of his words, yet I choose to be Destonian. I tried the tools and began the process of learning how to live the principles even before I had seen them in action directly in my own life,  I had only the testimony of others and my own living actions to show me if what I suspected was true, if what I was open to being possible and what resonated with me on deep levels was actionable and effective, and that common sense was in fact key despite being brought up in a world that functions in opposition to it.

When the apostle Thomas was told that Jesus had risen from the dead after three days, he could not believe, would not believe until he saw it himself, in the flesh. And only then, when Jesus appeared to him and he could touch his wounds and feel his body would he believe that it was real. And here I wonder, why was it about one man, one body, instead of being about the message itself that Thomas had learned, lived and understood for three years prior. Why did he need proof through the miracle of one man when the message itself was the answer. Why did the evidence have to come from an external source in separation of himself in order to be believed, when the message of forgiveness, of ‘doing unto others’ and ‘love thy neighbour’ need only common sense to confirm and living application to prove.

Bernard never wanted followers, worshippers or believers, he rather wanted self-honest, individuals capable of critical thought and who learn to trust themselves. He wanted us to live the message and prove ourselves to SELF. Having evidence and proof in the form of miracles or super-natural phenomena poses a bit of a problem, as it plays on our desire to worship things outside ourselves, to function based on externalized belief only, separating ourselves from any ability to be Christlike (the living word) and leaving us instead to be Christian (knowledge and information without practical application), followers, bowing down to something apparently greater than ourselves, confusing that abdication of responsibility with humility.

Desteni is not Christianity, but there are parallels in the principles of what it means and what is required to change in each man and in this world. It is not about making it to some apparent ‘heaven ‘ only after death, but to create heaven on earth, the  heaven that is Here but not yet realized - from the hell that is our current reality – to take responsibility for the creation of this reality, to understand the parts of ourselves that allowed reality to come to be this way, and to change those ugly things we see into things that are actually beneficial, within forgiveness and not judgment.

I personally am one that believed even though I had not seen. I believed because it made sense, and I continue to believe because I have proven it to myself over ten years, I believe because of cross-referenceable feedback from my environment and reality over time, and I believed before I met the portal in the flesh, observed and interacted with her over an extended period of time, because it did not matter who or what the source is or was, it is the words, the tools, the principles and the message that matters, and from here there is only confirmation, or correction, re-alignment when and as necessary, never judging  as good or bad, but rather seeing what’s here and directing it based on the principle of doing what’s Best For All in Oneness and Equality, it is a learning process, a physical application, and not a blind faith to recite or look to others to believe in.

I did not believe based on a starting point of worshipping another, placing another above myself, looking only to the deeds and abilities of someone else other than me. I believed because I knew I was capable of so much more, because I did not place any limitation on my own potential, but chose instead to push and see for myself what my potential is, only to realize that every time I thought I found my limits, I was capable of more. And in the process of being open to believing at first, and then trying and testing it out for myself in my own life, did I develop the self-trust through seeing, realizing, understanding and applying, and as I stand now, it feels as though this process is only starting, and starts again every day. The proof is in and as Self, in living application. actionable correction with follow through, in feedback, in cross-reference.... the proof is in the pudding, as they say.

I am a changed being, and continue to change as I breath by breath live my application in the physical and work with physical reality over time. My life and living is and will be the living proof and my testimony to others that the Desteni message is Here, is real, and is the most effective way to change self, and so change the world. The potential is Here to create a world that is Best for All. Will we realize that potential, or will we choose the path of  blind faith, non-action, bowing down and consequence forevermore?

Day 124- Pursuing Likes and Avoiding Dislikes Is Not Really Living

This blog continued from yesterday’s blog, and is part of a series in which I am taking apart the issues I experience that hold me back from being an effective student. For the entire series click Here.
Written in italics (scroll down to see) are paragraphs from Day 122- I Am No Match For ME, which I am taking apart and deconstructing within this blog in order to find out what self-destructive patterns and habits are existent within me hidden in my own words. In this way, the written word becomes the key to unlocking the secrets of the self, in order to fully understand self ("Man, know thyself"), to empower myself to change.

http://spontaneouscombustionbook.com/2011/06/man-know-thyself/
It's interesting that the habits and patterns that I have thusfar accepted and allowed to exist within me, as me, are actually based in self-interest, but are also self-diminishing and self-destructive. Here I am pulling apert these habits and patterns that are getting in the way of my studies and being/becoming an effective student, but the by-product of this (and the main point) is to rid myself of the nature of existing only within/as self-interest, in order to re-create myself as a human being that is actually capable of caring, and of considering the fact that there is a whole wide world of peopl/beings/life 'out there' that is being disregarded.

Self-change is required so that we may each individuallly stand as the living change of that which we require to be to change the world. No matter how long it takes, it has to start somewhere, so might as well have it be us: our generation: this group of people that we are right now a part of, all existing Here at the same time on the same planet. Because, otherwise, what's the point of life, if not LIFE? All Life.

But first things first, step by step, we can only change at the pace of the breath of life.

Deoncstructing my words, finding the hidden self-interest: (for context, please read Day 122- I Am No Match For ME). The following question arose within my mind in relation to why I don't want to let go of certain things that keep me from being self-disciplined.

So what do I fear giving up? And because behind every fear there is self-interest, as self is protecting self, what it the self-interest within/as this fear?

Fear of losing: Escape, the ability to ‘relax’ (which really means laziness), the
control of my mind to pursue likes and avoid dislikes.

The self-interest inherent within all these things is giving up my time, as in “’my’ time”: The time that I take just for ‘me’ to do whatever ‘I’ want. But really, this is not true: it’s not what I want. What I (as the directive principle of me) want is to do my studies, to push myself to do the best I am able, to be able to direct myself to do something without losing an internal battle. So what is this ‘I’ that wants only to be lazy, to pursue ‘likes’ and avoid ‘dislikes’ according to some system of
judgment about what is ‘likeable’ and what is ‘unlikeable’- a system of judgment of ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ that actually diminishes me in so many ways, least of all is my grades- and a system of judgment that I have no recollection of creating, yet one that rules my life in so many ways? It is me. But it is not myself as life; it is myself as a very programmable mind which I have been programming in unawareness my whole life. Within and during this unawareness, my mind has run rampant with creating and directing me, to the point where I do not even really recognize myself.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to manipulate and con myself that ‘what I want’ and what will ‘make me happy’ is being able to fuck off and ‘do whatever’, instead of seeing, realizing and understanding that what I really want is a world where all life is supported, including me, and this involves me first supporting myself in every way, to prove to myself that such support is in fact possible, and then to do it, so that I become a living expression of it, wherein I can support others as myself, which is unconditionally.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to NOT see, realize and understand that supporting myself will involve letting go of many habits that I like, but which do not support me, and

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not want to go through the withdrawal from these habits/patterns that I have lived with and become so accustomed to and comfortable with.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to have become so accustomed to and comfortable with destructive habits and patterns that it seems scary and impossible to live without them.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear who I will be and become if I let go of old habits and patterns to instead support myself unconditionally.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear losing old habits and patterns of living that don’t support me.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing a system of judgment of ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ to exist within and as me and direct me, even though I don’t even know when/how I created it, and even though I see it has a destructive/diminishing effect within/as/in my life.

It’s interesting because when I’m really honest with myself, I can see that the perception I have of myself is different than who I really am. This is obvious as I take at look back at my day every night, consider all the things I had set out to do (intention), and then seeing the things I had actually done. But who I Am does not exist within intention, who I really am as living actions is something different from my intentions. The actions that I actually live out are what are relevant, because that is the living expression of me and my participation in this world, as it is for all of us. THAT is what counts. So it’s quite a wakeup call when I see that my living expression/participation in this world is not even under my own control, as I set out to do things that I don’t end up doing, or I end up doing less well than I am able, thus putting up with a sub-standard version of myself. THAT is unacceptable.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to believe Who I Am exists in my mind, as my perception of myself, instead of seeing, realizing and understanding that Who I Am as Life exists in my actions and words and the thoughts that reflect what I ACTUALLY do, not just who or what I THINK I do.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not see the reality of myself in complete and utter brutal self-honesty, wherein, I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to hang on to thoughts and ideas I have of myself that make me seem better then who/what I really am ,so that I can actually live with myself, instead of being fed up with myself, which I should be, to the point that I change no matter what.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not see, realize and understand that the fact that we don’t see ourselves clearly, the reality of ourselves, the reality of Who We Really are in complete and utter brutal self-honesty, allows each one of us to continue on living in ways which are less than who we really are, then we either make ourselves ‘seeeeeem’ better than that within and through our thoughts and feelings about ourselves, or we diminish ourselves to the point of disempowerment and giving up- either way- we allow ourselves to continue on without changing, day after day after day, until we wake up one day and we’re 40, 50, 60, 70…dead.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not deal with what goes on inside me in every moment, until who I am without, as my external actions, words and deeds are an exact mirror of who I am within, and so that my without and within are aligned with a way of living that is supportive to Life, as all as one living organism, as equal individual parts.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to put up with a sub-standard version of myself, and I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not look at myself, and who I really am in my living actions, I complete, utter and brutal self-honesty in every moment.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to think, believe, perceive I exist within and as my intentions, instead of seeing, realizing and understanding that it is within my action that I am in any way relevant.

I react to this in frustration, but that is only yet another way to just let it keep happening. Because within that frustration exists statements like “this is just impossible,” “I can’t do this,” and “I give up” etc.. Thus really just making myself miserable because I’m accepting and allowing myself to continue by just giving up on myself, and not taking my power back and directing myself within self-discipline.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing frustration to exist within and as me

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to create and manifest frustration within and as me, and I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to use this frustration as an excuse why I can’t change.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing frustration to overwhelm me in one moment, leading me to want to give up, instead of seeing, realizing and understanding that frustration is not one bit necessary, as I am never frustrated when I am actively working towards practical solutions, I only become frustrated when I’m not moving myself, when the work I’m doing is impractical, when there is no defined solution, or when I’m falling in the face of resistances.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to not resolve the issues I face, as I face them, but to instead grow frustrated and blame events and things outside myself for why it is not working out, why I can’t focus/concentrate, why I don’t want to do it, etc…

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to want/need/desire to use frustration as a reason, justification or excuse to give up on myself.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to ever think that my frustration does not have myself as its source and solution.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to use frustration to continue doing/being/living in a manner that is less than who I am (lack of understanding, lack of discipline/motivation/self-movement, lack of self-equality/equality with others, too much judgment etc, etc, etc…)
Self committments and self-correction to follow.

Day 35- I'm Not A Witch!

Today the prominent point I experienced was the experience of not speaking because of the self-observation that when I speak- it is not yet who I am. My last two blogs were about role-playing, wherein I have developed over time, the habit/pattern/coping mechanism of suppressing my natural self-expressions in order to play roles or personalities in an attempt to avoid conflict, in order to get what I want, because of fear of self-expression and due to pre-programming as socialization, family etc… so now what is coming up as a result of this realization, I have become more aware of who I am NOT. I am NOT these roles I play, and have played my entire life. So now, in a given situation, when I go to act/speak/participate, it’s like- there’s nothing there. When I give in to the experience of wanting to speak for the sake of social queues or whatever, I usually end up saying something that I am unsatisfied with because it is self-dishonest: it is speaking for the sake of filling space, speaking because of social pressure (either real or self-created), speaking because, for whatever reason, I feel I should, speaking to appear normal and fine (this is the one I’m going to focus on).

I often find myself speaking to appear ‘normal’ (whatever that is) and ‘fine,’ because, since I started my process of learning, understanding and applying the tools I learned from the Desteni website, I have been very much changing internally. However, I found I have had the tendency to ‘keep up appearances’ to/towards friends/family/community because of the fact that the status quo is very much accepted and embraced and thus I have been socialized as such, and a fear exist within me to go against the grain. A group such as Desteni or Equal Money is very much seen as scary, a threat, weird/bizarre/cultish and has provoked hostile reactions towards me. I understand these reactions because I went through the same socialization process, and if for some reason I was not able to see through this to actually hear what Desteni are saying, I would feel the same way. So I look at myself as this socialized being that I am- scared, closed minded, defensive and judgmental, ready to cry ‘witch’ and ‘cult,’ and I think to myself: this is impossible. Yet here I am, applying the Desteni tools (self-forgiveness, self-honesty, self-corrective application) in my daily life, thus I am the living proof that this is possible: Even the most stubborn people can learn to question their internal experience as something they are entirely responsible for, question reality and what we accept and embrace as the status quo, and to actually move themselves to hear, learn, apply a different way of being. I am that type of person that I fear- closed-minded, judgmental, group-think/pack-mentality type, scared, defensive: I accepted and allowed all of that behavior to exit in me. I saw it prominently within myself in highschool, in elementary school, with friends in my youth etc… and now I play the role of ‘normal’ and ‘fine’ because I fear that person that I am, the one who would organize a witchhunt to persecute someone like me. I am that because I still have that in me, and it scares the shit out of me. I see now that this is the basis of it all: fear.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to live in extensive fear of myself and what I am capable of, and fear that others may be capable of the same things toward me, such as judgment, hatred, resent, fear and blame wherein I fear another will actually act out on these internal experiences and persecute me, either inside themselves or externally in actual reality.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to have participated within judgment, hatred, resent, fear and blame throughout my life without realizing the consequences of fear/keeping everyone locked in fear/fear of standing up/fear of change I was creating for myself and for others by consciously, unconsciously and subconsciously participating within such mind patterns of judgment, hatred, resent, fear and blame within and as me.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate in judgment, self-judgment, resent, hatred, fear and blame and I forgive myself for accepting and allowing judgment, self-judgment, resent, hatred, fear and blame to exist within and as me.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear being persecuted.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear being ostracized.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear being rejected and outcast by friends/family/society.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear what I have accepted and allowed myself to be/become as my mind/ego/human nature of fear, survival and competition, wherein I want nothing to change because I am surviving right now the way things are, and I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to want/need/desire to fight to maintain this status quo because it appears to be working out for me. because it's all I know, and because I fear ending up as one of the poor/starving/suffering in this world.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear myself and my own human nature and I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear the human nature of all.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear that human nature cannot be changed.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear that people will more likely persecute, ostracize, reject and outcast me then take responsibility for their own human nature, and within this, I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to rather persecute, ostracize, reject and outcast myself than take absolute self-responsibility for my human nature as my creation.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear myown creation.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to create, manifest and participate within all these fears and thus, I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear my own fear.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to play roles due to these fears, because I believe that if people see me change, they will resort to human nature and attack/persecute/ostracize me.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear others seeing my change as a threat or judging me and thus expressing hostile behavior towards me.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself as ego to see my self-change as a threat and judging myself as it and thus expressing hostile behavior towards myself.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to participate in this internal battle inside me of playing roles and hanging onto this image due to fear, instead of just letting go of the image and the fear and living for the first time.

I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fear changing because I don’t know who or how I will be and so I rely on the role I’m habituated to playing, so, I forgive myself for accepting and allowing myself to fall in to habitual roles instead of standing up from within them and changing.

When and as I see myself going into fear based on how I may be perceived I stop, and I breathe. I remind myself that I am only fearing myself, and the nastiness I have accepted and allowed within me, and I realize that nobody has the power to harm me as Who I Am except me. I realize I can be hurt physically, but there is no point in fearing that. Who I Am is Here, and no amount of judgment or rejection or expulsion can diminish me.

When and as I see myself going into roles due to the fears of how others will react to my change, I stop, and I breathe. I remind myself that there’s no options except self-honesty in the moment- because that is the only option whose consequences I can accept and allow.

I commit myself to eradicate fear from within me so that I may stop suppressing myself and instead express and live me.

I commit myself to be/become the living proof that human nature can change.

I commit myself to discipline myself within expressing self-honesty, even if it calls for many awkward silences.

I commit myself to redeeming myself as a human being, by proving to myself that I will not accept anything less than who I am.
